Football Outsiders Store FAQ

We hope this page answers typical questions about how to buy things at the Football Outsiders store, and what is included in Football Outsiders Almanac 2010 and the KUBIAK fantasy football projections spreadsheet.

If you have any other questions about the book, KUBIAK, or FO Premium, or you don't feel that these answers fully handle your questions, please contact us at mailbag - at - footballoutsiders.com. Please be as descriptive as possible with what you are doing.

Using the Football Outsiders Store

I purchased the PDF version of Football Outsiders Almanac 2010 and/or KUBIAK, but I was not sent the file. How do I download my order?

To download your order, go to our homepage and (while logged in) click on My FO Downloads or My Files on the left sidebar. Either link will take you to your account's downloads page, where you can download the product you ordered.

I made my purchase, but when I go to the "My FO Downloads" page, it says "Transaction Received" next to the file(s) I purchased.

If this is the case, your order is still being processed by Paypal. 99.9 percent of the time, it means that you paid by an eCheck through Paypal. Much like real checks, eChecks take several business days to clear -- only when the check is cleared does Paypal tell us that the order is complete, at which point your purchase is made available to download.

Why does Football Outsiders require a Paypal account to purchase anything?

Some of you have yelled at us for confining your purchasing experience to a PayPal account. You don't want a PayPal account. You should be able to purchase things without it. Fear not, for you need not have a PayPal account to purchase our wares. When you go through the purchase process at the Football Outsiders Online Store, you are taken to a PayPal payment page, where you can log in if you have an account. On the left side, though, just above all the credit card logos, is a link that takes you to where you can pay without a PayPal account. It's always been there.

Football Outsiders Almanac 2010

When will the print version of Football Outsiders Almanac 2010 be available for purchase? How much will it cost? Will there be a package with KUBIAK or the PDF version?

The printed version of FOA 2010 will be produced through Createspace, and will be available sometime around July 20. The price for the printed copy is $21.95 plus shipping. You can buy a printed copy of our 2009 book from Createspace here. The book will also beavailable through Amazon.com. Please be aware that we get a higher royalty on sales through Createspace, so if you can, please use that link to buy a printed copy. However, we know that Createspace's shipping costs for people who live outside the United States are a bit ridiculous, so we don't mind if our international readers use Amazon.

Unfortunately, for technical reasons, we are unable to offer any package deals which give readers a discount for purchasing both the printed version of FOA 2010 and the PDF version, or the KUBIAK spreadsheet, or FO Premium.

Is there a Kindle or iPad version of the book?

There is no specific Kindle version, but you can load PDF files onto your Kindle on all Kindles except for the original version. The iPad also features a PDF reader that should handle FOA 2010 with no problem.

How come when I download Football Outsiders Almanac 2010, I only get the college football portions of the book?

We are still finishing the full FOA 2010, but we didn't want to wait any longer to get KUBIAK on sale. We needed a file that people could download if they were purchasing package deals that included both KUBIAK and FOA. So we decided to give people an early look at the college football portion of the book while we finished the rest. Come back to our site after July 8 and you will be able to download the full book with no additional cost.

When is Pro Football Prospectus 2010 coming out? Is Football Outsiders Almanac 2010 a similar book?

Yes. FOA 2010 is produced by the same people who brought you the last four versions of PFP, offering the same level of quality content in a similar format. There is no longer any book called Pro Football Prospectus.

The only big difference between the two is that FOA 2010 is not available in stores. The only difference in content is that FOA 2010 has more than 60 pages of expanded college football previews.

The reason for the change in the title of the book is explained here.

KUBIAK Fantasy Football Projections

I opened up the KUBIAK spreadsheet in [a program that is not Microsoft Excel for Windows] and had trouble using the spreadsheet. Why is this happening?

As we explain on the 2010 KUBIAK store page, neither Excel 2008 for Mac nor OpenOffice are able to run the macros contained in KUBIAK to customize leagues. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it's an issue that's out of our control.

How often is KUBIAK updated? When will I know if it has been updated?

KUBIAK updates will be listed in a box on the left side of Football Outsiders, and also on the KUBIAK discussion board.

Is KUBIAK updated during the regular season?

There is one in-season update to KUBIAK after Week 3 of the regular season, but we do not update the projections on a weekly basis otherwise.

Where are the Individual Defensive Player projections?

Because we are running late on things this year, IDP projections are not yet finished. We'll be posting the version of KUBIAK with IDP projections sometime around July 10.

FO Premium Access

I bought Premium access and now I can't find the stats database. Where is it?

Premium access requires being logged into the site. Check the top black bar to see if you're logged in; if it shows Member Name and Password boxes, you're not logged in. If you're logged in, you can click on the Premium Content button at the top right of the page (or just click here) to get to the Premium section.
